Saturday Baseball

LCHS principal Joe Lang (not Long)
suited up with the Red Devils today to coach first base.
His hand-claps were crisp and sharp and his voice bright and strong,
"Back, Back, Back!"
He shouted to the runners.
"Go two, Go two".

The Devils lost both games, but no-one even suggested it had anything to do with the firstbase coaching.



Matthew Pugh puts the tag on runners from St. Claire.

During the LCHS vs Butler game. After Matthew Pugh led off the inning, the third batter was his brother Chris Pugh.
I was shooting from the centerfield fence and heard the Butler centerfielder holler over to the leftfielder "How many Pugh's they got?"
the left fielder hollered back, "I think the whole team named Pugh".

It was a beautiful day for baseball.
