I saw the ol' squeeze play today.

With the bases loaded, Coach Inman called for the squeeze bunt against area foe East Limestone this afternoon. It scored an early run for the Devils. They added lots more, and won the game 12-2.

I also enjoyed a beautiful sunset as the game progressed.

I Stayed close to home......

while all the varsity teams at ELHS and LCHS were traveling today. I shot a couple of LCHS vs Addison JV games.

Jessica Graybill is home and doing well. I was able to deliver her senior portraits to her this afternoon. (Jessica had just placed an order right before her accident). She's looking forward to returning to school and finishing out her senior year at ELHS. Here's her Aunt Sharon's favorite.

And at the Lawrence County Girls Softball Tournament. LCHS won the JV championship. Good Job Ladies!

LCHS won it's home game today against ELHS by a score of 4-2.
The JV Lady Devils won their game 10-4.

Coach is laughing because the ump told him he had seen a baseball game before.

It all came down to ELHS vs LCHS.....

.. in the ELHS Invitational. After all the other teams got sent back home. ELHS and LCHS battled through a gutwrenching pitiching duel between Tiffany T. and Summer W. Tiffany pitched a NO HITTER. Summer only gave up 3 hits, the gamewinner was a single by Dana Maxwell in the bottom of the 7th at 10:24 pm scoring Jamie S. from second.

Anyone who paid, got their $3 worth for sure.

I want to say to whoever made the slaw for the concession stand, that stuff was GREAT.

"What's that pecking noise?"

I kept hearing a pecking noise this morning and my investigation led me to this female Red Bellied Woodpecker in the tree just out back of the studio. She was camera shy and got gone pretty quick.

We shot some fast softball action yesterday at the East Lawrence Invitational.
ELHS and LCHS both won their pool games.

Thursday, March 9, 5 p.m.
We all sat and watched the rain and lightnig this afternoon, all games were canceled.
But ol' Dan was having fun with his radar.
It's a big weekend though, with beautiful weather predicted.
Break out the sunscreen!
LCHS girls softball will travel to the ELHS invitaional tournamnet today and Saturday.
Baseball: LCHS and ELHS will meet at SPEAKE tonight.
Saturday, LCHS will play Grissom at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville.

I spent the late afternoon at LCHS Eight Grade Baseball vs Falkville.
LCHS won the first game 12-3.




Falkville won the second game. So it was one for the Red Devils and one for the Blue Devils.

Your thoughts and prayers for Jessica.....

We found out this morning that East Lawrence senior Jessica Graybill, is in the Huntsville Hospital ICU unit. She was injured yesterday, in a 4 wheeler accident .
Everybody remember Jessica in your prayers, we all hope she will be o.k.

ELHS Home Opener

The East Lawrence Varsity Boys baseball team won it's first home game of the season today.

Danielle Q. and I both covered this game, and there was plenty of action to keep us both busy.

If you could get out of the cool March wind, and stay in the warm March sun; it was almost perfect.

The Eagels pounded Austin; 10-3.

Saturday Baseball

LCHS principal Joe Lang (not Long)
suited up with the Red Devils today to coach first base.
His hand-claps were crisp and sharp and his voice bright and strong,
"Back, Back, Back!"
He shouted to the runners.
"Go two, Go two".

The Devils lost both games, but no-one even suggested it had anything to do with the firstbase coaching.



Matthew Pugh puts the tag on runners from St. Claire.

During the LCHS vs Butler game. After Matthew Pugh led off the inning, the third batter was his brother Chris Pugh.
I was shooting from the centerfield fence and heard the Butler centerfielder holler over to the leftfielder "How many Pugh's they got?"
the left fielder hollered back, "I think the whole team named Pugh".

It was a beautiful day for baseball.

Lady Eagles season ends...

Lady Eagles, I'm sorry that it has taken me so... long to update the blog about the game last Sat. (2/25th). I have been at a total lose for words. My heart and my tears went out to you guys...
Hold your chins up high and be proud that you had such a wonderful WINNING season. Everyone is so... very proud of each and everyone of 'ya! Love 'ya girls!
