Basketball season is underway.........

I made it to my first game tonight where the Red Devils were taking on East Lawrence. I couldn't believe it, KISS was there, and my neighbor Chris remembered in what order they were on that album cover.

I was a little worried about the little kids.......

but it was the "big kids" that gave me trouble on this shoot.
No, really I had a wonderful fun time with the Walker Family Sunday afternoon. The little ones were perfect smiling angels, the "terroist" was in the gray Bama shirt. Thank you Joy for making this "make-up" day happen. We waited a year!

It turned out to be a nice day for racing......

but a terrible mess for football, which is over now, may it rest in peace.
The LCHS Girls XC team won first place in County, second in the NW regional. The LCHS Boys were runner up in County and I'm not sure in the NW regional, the scoring was all messed up, they "may have" won the thing. CJ's new haircut shaved 45 seconds off his time.

Barely.... but I made it.........

I left the XC race in Decatur as soon has the boys race was over, and got back to LCHS JUST in time to see the LCHS Volleyball team score the last two points and win thier match, which will send them to state next week! Congratulations ladies.
At the Decatur XC race, Jenni got off to a ruff start, but she bounced right back up and finished strong, way to go Jenni!
The LCHS Girls team finished 2nd and the Boys finished 4th. XC is such a family friendly sport, it's a joy to be a part of. Number 223's dad told him he would give him a $100 if he could finish ahead of #211. Number 211 saved him a hundred dollars.

What a game...... LCHS 16 ELHS 15

I think the officials thought they were calling a basketball game, with all the flags, dirty laundry the announcer called them, but when they let them play FOOTBALL, the Devils drove the ball down and scored with 47 seconds remaining, to give them a 16-15 lead, that was secured when #33 intercepted a pass and ran the clock out. Good Job LCHS Red Devils.

Greg

Saltillo Mississippi, Cross Muddy Country Run

At least it didn't rain on us during the races, but the course was AUTROUTIOUS! Michael finished 6th overall and William 11th leading the LCHS Boys to a 4th place finish.
Ari got ripped off, I was standing right at the finish line and you can see that she passed this runner and the I heard the judge say, "Black White", which would have given Ari second place, but, it seems some other judge saw it different and scored Ari third. The LCHS Girls team finished in third place. This was a 4a-6a race, in terrible conditions, so we are very proud of the LCHS XC teams for their accomplishments!

Speake Schoolday...............

Oh me, I had forgot the Joy/Challenges of working with Kindergardeners!!! But aint they cute!!!! I photographed all 8 grades and did class pictures at Speake School today. I ran into an old LCHS graduate (well, she's not old), Whitney. And a big thanks to my two 8th grade annual staff helpers Anna, and Anna. (bottom right). I had no trouble remembering their names, I just said, "Hey Anna", and they both said, "Sir"? Thank you so much girls. And I'm proud now to be the school photographer for Speake School.

Shoot.... dad gummit............

If the Red Devils had only 5 more seconds on the clock, Nolan would have kicked a field goal and we would have won 9-7, but it didn't happen that way, the clock ran out. It was great to see the stadium full and all the Screamin' Demons painted up and cheering the boys on.

Greg

LCHS Volleyball..........

It's always a joy to work with the LCHS Volleyball teams!
