LCHS XC Girls State Champs.... Boys, Runner-up..

Right after we learned that the girls had won state, the boys took off on their quest to get a ring too. But Randolph was just too much to this year.
But I say "AWESOME JOB" Boys and Girls.
Congratulations Girls! That's Samantha in the composite who was running and helping win a State Championship on her 13th birthday.
Guys, I want to say to you, I saw some guys out there running by theirself; they had no team.
Ya'll had a team and a dang good one, which means you've got an expierence that you all shared together. It means you have a bond, it means you have friends. All of that, someday, will mean more than a ring.
We're all very proud of all of you.

I didn't lay around and do nothing in Oct.....

More seniors came in for portraits. From top left, there's Molly, Clay, Lucas (with the bow), Ashley, Lauren, Marcus, Kayla, Erin, Tiffany and Max from LCHS and bottom right, Clint, from Hatton.
I did get to photograph 2 lovely outdoor weddings in Oct.
My friend Steve's daughter Wendi was married on the 27th in Killien.
And Kaila and Jody were married on the 20th in Decatur, at Frazier Park.
And on the 1st of November, the LCHS Boys and Girls XC team took 1st place at the Sectionals in Cold Springs. Greg

All the way to the Final 4......

But it ended with a loss there in the semi-finals.
Dang.
I was concerned when I found out they had us playing in an ice rink. Red Devils don't play their best in a cold enviroment.
But IT was a GREAT accomplisment to get there, and a great season you all can be proud of!!
I'm also proud of all the supporters who drove down and paid 5 bucks to park, and 10 bucks to get in, and 2 dollars and fifty cents for a bottle of water.... to be able to cheer the girls on.
LCHS, number ONE to me.

LCHS Homecoming 2007.....

I figured out that; attendants and their moms get really tensed up when rain and tornadoes interfere with makeup, hairdos, hairdo-redos , and parades get cancelled. ….and such as that.
But when all the storms Thursday passed on by, we had a great parade on Friday.
At halftime tonight, Mr. Lang crowned Ragan as LCHS Homecoming Queen 2007 …… and yes, it was a little emotional for me….
I had the honor to escort my beautiful daughter Taylor, Senior attendant, across the field, and then, as we stood there an listened to the Alma mata….It just hit me…….We were standing on a football field that I used to play on,…25 years ago……..
I had a heart attack in April…………….. I could have missed it all……
Sorry, couldn’t help it. I was proud to be there with her.

Special thanks to DeAngelo and Amy for taking pictures for me.

Monday night while the LCHS and Hatton JV football teams were battling on the football field, the LCHS Volleyball team was recognizing their only senior this year........ Carlie.
They all got to crying and I thought they were going to make me cry.

Crimson Tide Run....... LCHS vs Deshler

I went down to watch the LCHS XC team compete in the run in Tuscaloosa. The LCHS boys finished 4th. That's Lily on the bottom right running on her 13th birthday. (I heard she's been a teenager for years, but today makes it official). That's Sarah, hauling water to the LCHS runners.
Then it was a fast trip throught the forest to the LCHS vs Deshler game. (you've got to be careful and watch for deer coming through Bankhead at dusk).
The only things good about the game were some good catches by Radney, and the LCHS Band, and the new LCHS Cheerleader uniforms.
Deshler won.......... "a whole lot" to 18.

Guess who came by Saturday......

Brooke Hand, dug out her old Lady Devil uniform and came by for a portrait to be put on the wall in the LCHS gym, recognizing her All-State performance there.
I wish Brooke great success as she begins her senior year in college basketball.
She will have a game vs UAH this year. We need to get up a bus load of
"Screamin' Demons" to go over and cheer her on!

Good Luck Brooke!
